Crusaders Downed at Heidelberg

The Capital University men's soccer team fell to Heidelberg University 1-0 on Saturday in an Ohio Athletic Conference game in Tiffin, Ohio. It was the team's second straight defeat after a seven-game unbeaten streak.

The Student Princes (6-5-1 overall, 1-1-1 OAC) outshot the Crusaders 16-4, including four from freshman Christopher Koczak.

Koczak scored the game's only goal in the 38th minute when he ripped a shot from outside the box past junior goalkeeper Bob Weisgarber.

Weisgarber (Columbus, Ohio) made nine saves for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders struggled to get in a rhythm on offense, totaling only one shot on goal, and fell to 0-2-1 in the OAC and 5-4-3 overall. It was the second straight shutout loss for the Crusaders.

The team plays its fourth OAC game on Tuesday as it returns home to face Wilmington at Bernlohr Stadium. The match kicks off at 4 p.m.
