COLUMBUS – The Capital University men's soccer team was unable to get anything going offensively Tuesday, falling 4-0 against No. 10/25 Ohio Northern in an Ohio Athletic Conference affair at Bernlohr Stadium.

With the loss, the Crusaders (5-3-3 overall, 0-1-1 OAC) saw their seven-match unbeaten streak come to an end. The team had allowed only three goals in its last five matches combined before surrendering four on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears (11-2, 2-0), who qualified for the Sweet 16 in last year's NCAA Tournament, outshot Capital 19-3 and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

Junior goalkeeper Bob Weisgarber (Columbus, Ohio; at right) totaled eight saves for the Crusaders.

After an evenly played opening 20 minutes, Ohio Northern struck in the 23rd minute on a penalty kick after Capital was flagged for a foul just inside the box.

The Polar Bears doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute before taking control of the match with a tally in the 52nd.

The Crusaders continue league play and look to start a new unbeaten streak this Saturday at Heidelberg. Match time is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Tiffin, Ohio.
