OVERVIEW OF McPHERSON
Camille McPherson enters her fourth season at the helm of Capital Women's Basketball in 2024-25, looking to make big strides after a very successfull 2023-24 campaign in which the Comets reached the OAC Semifinals for the first time since 2017-18. She ascended to the role of head coach in December of 2021 after serving as assistant coach for the first nine games of the season, making her the fourth head coach in program history.

2023-24
The 2023-24 season was McPherson's best to date as the Comets climbed to the top of the OAC table, finishing the regular season with a 18-8 overall record and 13-5 in conference play to claim third place in the OAC. Capital, led by D3hoops. com Second Team All-Region guard Bri O'Connor, would advance to the OAC Semifinals after defeating Mount Union at The Capital Center, eventually bowing out on the road to Marietta. Under McPherson's guidance, four Comets would receive All-OAC Honors: Bri O'Connor (First Team), Samaree Perkins (Second Team), Demi Brewer (Honorable Mention), and Laney Murphy (Honorable Mention).

2022-23
The 2022-23 season was Capital's first full season under McPherson's command as she led the Comets to a much-improved 13-12 overall record, 7-11 in conference play, ending up just oustide of the restructured six-team conference tournament at seventh place in the OAC. The Purple and White would boast new addition Bri O'Connor as a D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region Selection as well as a First Team All-OAC Selection alongside freshman Samaree Perkins earning OAC Freshman of the Year honors.

2021-22
McPherson took over the reigns of a struggling Capital program in December of the 2021-22 season after being added as an assistant coach earlier in the year. The Comets would finish that season 5-20 overall and 2-14 in conference play after falling in the first round of the then ten-team OAC Tournament. Despite the struggles, a highlight of McPherson's first season in charge was the selection of freshman Laney Murphy as the OAC Freshman of the Year and All-OAC Honorable Mention. Murphy would also set the program records for most three-pointers made (70) and attempted (184) in a single-season, which still stands to this day.

BACKGROUND ON McPHERSON
On March 16th, 2022, President Dave Kaufman and Interim Athletic Director Steve Bruning announced the promotion of Camille McPherson to be the next head women's basketball coach. 

Prior to joining the Purple and White, McPherson served as an assistant coach with Allegheny College.

At Allegheny, McPherson assisted the program in administrative tasks, coordinating recruiting efforts, operating the team's social media page, and organizing various volunteer opportunities for the team among other duties. She helped a program turnaround that included a five-win increase from the previous year. Additionally, McPherson helped in recruiting the 2020 NCAC Newcomer of the Year, coached three All-Conference honorees, and mentored a 1,000 point scorer. 

In addition to her coaching responsibilities at Allegheny, McPherson took on department administrative duties by serving as the game day manager for the volleyball program. 

Prior to coaching at Allegheny, McPherson was the Graduate Assistant for the Center for Career and Civic Engagement from 2017 to 2018 at her alma mater, Moravian College. In this role, she worked to recruit, hire, and schedule more than 50 student workers to tutor and mentor in local elementary schools. Additionally, she participated in programs to encourage students to become engaged through community service and volunteerism. 

McPherson has invested greatly in her coaching education and enhanced her resume through various professional development opportunities. She is a member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, WeCoach, Women Leaders in College Sports, Latinx Association of Basketball Coaches and National Hispanic Coaches Association. She has also participated in programs such as the NCAA Final Four Convention, the WBCA's "So You Want to be a Coach" program, Point Guard College, and the WBCA annual Youth Clinic. 

During her playing days at Moravian, McPherson served as a two-year captain and helped lead her team to a 2016 NCAA Tournament Appearance. She was named to the Co-SIDA Academic All-American team in 2017, was a two-time D3Hoops.com All-Region selection, a three time first team All-Conference honoree, and a two-time honorable mention All-American. She was also named the Moravian College Female Senior Athlete of the Year in 2017.
