TIFFIN, Ohio – The Capital University women's soccer team needed two second-half goals to complete a comeback Saturday afternoon against Heidelberg University.

Heidelberg (6-9-3 overall, 1-6-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) got the lead in the first half when senior forward Denise Bowers caught Capital's (9-6-1, 6-1-1) defense out of position in the top of the box. The goal was scored in the 22nd-minute.

The Student Princes were unable to keep Capital's offense at bay in the second half, in large part due to the explosion provided by senior Becca Cartmill (Temecula, Calif.). Heidelberg looked to have the match in control, 15 minutes into the second half until Jordan Fike (Powell, Ohio) fed the ball into the box as Cartmill's shot found its mark.

Over the next 12 minutes, Capital remained on the offensive with three shots, two saved by goalie Alexandra Farmer. However, the next shot would prove to be the game-winner as Cartmill broke away from Heidelberg's defense, beating Farmer for the score.

The Crusaders were the aggressor throughout the match, taking 28 shots, compared to Heidelberg's six. Fourteen of Capital's shots were on goal.

Sophomore keeper Hannah Klotzsche (Avon, Ind.) guarded Capital's goal the whole match, making three saves. Her record on the season improved to 8-6-1.

Farmer was under duress all match, and was able to make 12 stops.

Capital will face Baldwin Wallace University (10-7-1, 4-3) on Saturday in Berea, Ohio. The match is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
