Miller Wins Again at All-Ohio to Lead Men’s Track & Field

DELAWARE, Ohio – Qualifiers from Capital University Men's Track & Field traveled to Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday to compete in the annual All-Ohio Outdoor Championships. The Crusaders placed 13th out of 20 teams with 19.50 points.

Once again, the Crusaders were led by sophomore thrower Josh Miller. Miller won the shot put for the second week in a row and third time with outdoor season with a throw of 16.38 meters. The mark came on Miller's sixth and final attempt of the day after two fouls and is a new personal record. In the discus throw, Miller placed sixth by achieving a mark of 43.69 meters on this third attempt. He also finished ninth in the hammer with a toss of 45.41 meters, a new personal record and the third-best mark in program history.

In other field events, John Seman finished fifth in the high jump by clearing 1.91 meters on his third try and Joseph Eskra cleared 4.16 meters in the pole vault to place sixth.

Capital's 4x100-meter relay team of Eskra, Noah Meeker, Carter Moore and Cole Williams turned in a time of 44.42 seconds, good enough for ninth.

In the 800-meter run, Grant Ward crossed the finish line in 2:02.22 in 14th place. Meeker placed 14th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.75 seconds.

The Crusaders now have just one meet before the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships April 26-27 with the Otterebein University Twilight Invitational on deck on Friday, April 19.
