Senior goalkeeper Bob Weisgarber, of the Capital University men's soccer team, has been named to the second team All-Great Lakes Region following another stellar year in goal for the Crusaders.

Weisgarber, a Columbus, Ohio, native, earned second team honors after receiving the Ohio Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year award, while leading the conference in save percentage (.820), and placing in the top five in the OAC in goals-against average (1.13), goals against (22) and saves (100).

In addition, Weisgarber played a major role in the Crusaders defeating Baldwin Wallace in an OAC Tournament quarterfinals match, advancing the team to the semifinals at Ohio Northern, where Capital fell, 2-1, in double overtime.

Perhaps the highlight of the year for Weisgarber came in the OAC Tournament quarterfinals against Baldwin Wallace, as he scored on a free kick from 65 yards out, sailing the ball overtop the opposing goalkeeper for the game-winning goal in the 88th minute of play.

Capital (9-8-3 overall) finished the regular season in fourth place in the OAC standings, all while Weisgarber posted a 9-7-3 record in the net, including six shutout victories.
