COLUMBUS, Ohio- This weekend the Capital University women's cross country team will compete in the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship, hosted by John Carroll University.

This year's championships will be held at the Liberty Park Recreation Area, located in Twinsburg, Ohio on Saturday, November 2. The women's 6,000-meter championship race will begin at 12 p.m.

The Crusaders are set to be paced by freshman Allison Costanzo. Costanzo has been Cap's top finisher in each of its five races this season. Her 6k personal record came this season at the Bethany Invitational which was clocked at 26:12.0.

Freshman Eva Bernhardt has been the next Crusader to cross the line for nearly every race this season. Her personal best 6k time also took place at the Bethany Invitational. Bernhardt finished in 26:37.0, placing her 61st overall.

In addition to Costanzo and Bernhardt, the Crusaders will have three other runners who will be experiencing their first OAC Championships. Those include freshmen, Willow Cox, Alexa Daley, and Victoria Williams.

Last year the Crusaders finished ninth overall with a team score of 268.

The top 18 runners on both men's and women's sides will earn all-conference honors. First team distinctions will be given to those who place first through ninth and second team honors are reserved for those who finish 10th through 18th.
