Hansel and Costanzo Earn OAC Weekly Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – As a result of a great weekend for Capital Cross Country at the Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State Community College, two runners have been chosen by the OAC office as the Athletes of the Week.

For women's cross country, freshman Allison Costanzo was selected. Costanzo finished first overall in the women's 5,000 meter race. Her average mile pace was a 6:41 and she finished with a time of 20:46. This was the fastest of the day on the women's side. Costanzo continues to be the front runner for the Capital women's squad this season, setting the bar for her fellow teammates.

On the men's side, freshman Alexander Hansel earned votes as OAC's men's cross country Athlete of the Week. Hansel finished the 3.1 miles with a time of 16:43, the fastest of the day. Throughout the duration of the race, Hansel mile split was 5:23. 16:43 was a new personal record for Hansel. He finished almost 35 seconds faster this time around compared to his final time at the Quaker Open.
