Crusaders Establish a Good Foundation for the Season at Quaker Open

WILMINGTON, Ohio– Capital University Women's Cross Country started their 2019-20 season off at the Quaker Open, competing against the University of Mount Union, Marietta College, Wilmington College, Earlham College, Wittenberg University, and Mount St. Joseph University.  

The Crusaders placed fourth overall with a combined score of 102 and a total time of 1:10:28. Due to weather conditions, the women ran 2,000-meters instead of the intended 5k. Freshman, Allison Costanzo lead the pack for the Crusaders with a time of 13:22.1. Costanzo placed 12th overall. Along with Costanzo, freshmen Alexis Galbraith and Eva Benhardt both finished in the top half. 

Next up the Purple and White will head to West Virginia to compete in the Bethany Invitational on Sept. 7.
