WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Capital University Women's Cross Country returned to Otterbein University for the second race of the season in Westerville on Saturday, running in the Otterbein Invitational. The Crusaders placed fifth with 125 points.
One again, senior Mackenzie Meyers paced the Capital squad and for the third time in three tries this year, she finished inside of the top-15. Meyers stopped the clock at 24:25.8 in seventh, her second top-10 place of the year after she finished eighth at the Battle of Columbus on Aug. 31.
Freshman Kayleigh Noecker was the next Crusader to cross the finish line, doing so at 28:29.8 in 39th. Freshmen Heather Fryman and Lynna Freeman finished 52nd and 54th with times of 30:25.0 and 30:57.2, respectively.
Alaina Miller turned in a time of 32:09.9 in 57th and Maddie Rollins rounded out the team in 64th with a mark of 34:35.0.
Capital's busy start to the season will continue next week with the team's fourth race in four weeks at the Columbus State Cougar Invitational.
