COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Women's Cross Country hit the course again at the Bethany Invitational hosted by Bethany College (W. Va.) and again a Crusader earned top-15 honors.
Senior Mackenzie Meyers placed 15th with a time of 25:16, her second top-15 place of the year after finishing ninth at the Battle of Columbus last week.
Freshman Kayleigh Noecker placed second for the Crusaders, stopping the clock at 28:27 in 54th place.
A trio of Capital runners finished in the 70s, led by Alaina Miller in 70th with a run of 29:52. Emily Hilt finished four spots and 23 seconds behind Miller with a 74th-place time of 30:15. In 78th was freshman Lynna Freeman who crossed the finish line at 30:33.
The next Crusader to stop the clock was Heather Fryman with the freshman turning in a performance of 30:56. Maddie Rollins rounded out the Capital group with a time of 33:28.
As a team, Capital finished 11th out of 17 teams with 272 points. The packed start to the season will continue next week on Sept. 15 at the Otterbein Invitational hosted by Otterbein University.
