MEADVILLE, Penn. - After a couple weeks off, Capital University Women's Cross Country was back on the course at the Allegheny Classic on Saturday. Out of 11 teams, Capital placed 11th but picked up another top-five individual finish.
After finishing fourth in the Battle of Columbus on Sept. 1, junior runner Mackenzie Meyers (Ashville, Ohio/Teays Valley) once again paced the Crusaders and finished fifth with a time of 18:32.
Senior Hannah Westhoven (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon), who finished fifth in Capital's last meet, finished 14th with a time of 19:04.
Coming in third for the Capial team was sophomore Rachel Rus (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) who finished the course in 20:12.
Junior Larkin Joseph (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) was the next Capital runner to cross the finish line with the clock stopped at 20:41.
Two freshman rounded out the Crusader team, Alaina Miller (Baltimore, Ohio/ Liberty Union Thurston) and Allie Rus (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield). The two finished with times of 21:24 and 23:20, respectively.
Capital Women's Cross Country will be back in action next week, Sept. 23, at the Columbus State Cougar Classic.
