DELAWARE, Ohio– Capital University Women's Cross Country had a seventh place team finish and was host this year at the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship. Capital made huge strides this year having four runners clock in at the top half of the competition.
Junior Hannah Westhoven (Napolean, Ohio) led the Capital pack again this year crossing the line at 23:48.1. Her time earned her 26th-place overall out of a field of 125 runners.
Senior Sarah Rini (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington North) was the next runner across the line in a time of 24:04.5, knocking down her previous OAC Championship time by over 30 seconds. Rini earned a 36th-place finish.
Sophomore Mackenzie Meyers (Ashville, Ohio) was on Rini's heels coming in a time of 24:10.0 for 41st place.
Otterbein University (46) set themselves apart from the pack with its second straight OAC Championship. Taking second place right behind them was John Carroll University (46), and the third place finisher was Heidelberg University (88). Claire Lamb from Otterbein University won the individual title with a time of 21:57.5.
Capital is set to compete at this year's Great Lakes Regional Championship, hosted by Hope College, on Saturday, Nov. 12, in Holland, Mich.
