DELAWARE, Ohio –Led by sophomore Hannah Westhoven, the Capital University women`s cross country team marched into its second meet of the season at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational, Saturday morning.
Westhoven, a native of Napolean, Ohio, crossed the finish line with a time of 21:12.2. She fended off the competition and led the Capital pack by placing 37th out of 101 athletes.
Junior Carrie Kuder (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) served as the second Crusader to cross the finish line, clocking in at 21:31.7.
Junior Sarah Rini (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) finished in the top half of the pack timing out in 22:06.5.
Ashland University (40) took first place, and University of Findlay (66) took a second-place finish. Host Ohio Wesleyan University (76) finished third while Capital (212) rounded out the eight-team field.
The next time you can catch the Capital University Women`s Cross Country team will be on Sept. 19 at the Otterbein Invitational.
