WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Led by the performances of Carrie Kuder and Gretchen Sauder, the Capital University women's cross country team placed fourth out of 10 teams at the Otterbein University Invitational.

In just her second race as a member of the team, Kuder once again served as the top finisher for the Crusaders and was one of two top-20 placements for the Purple and White. She completed the 6,000-meter course in 24:39.0, good for 12th place overall.

Sauder crossed the finish line not too far behind her teammate. The sophomore was 18 seconds behind and edged out a member of The College of Wooster team for 16th place. She completed the course in 24:57.3.

Hannah Westhoven finished just outside of the top-25 in the 107-person field. Westhoven posted a 25:51.1 time in her run, good for 26th overall.

Also competing for the Crusaders was Alexandra Corrigan (27:05.3), who placed 40th.

Capital will close out the month of September by participating in the Pre-National meet, hosted by Wilmington College on Sept. 27.
