ADA, Ohio – The Capital University women's volleyball team fell to Ohio Northern University in straight sets on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Complex. The Polar Bears defeated Capital by scores of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-10.

Ohio Northern (17-7, 6-1 OAC), ranked 23rd in the most recently AVCA coaches poll, hit better than .230 in each of the three sets played while Capital continued to struggle on the offensive end. After dropping the opening game by 10, Capital had a chance to come back and tie the match up. Trailing just 20-19, Ohio Northern kicked it up a notch to score five straight points by way of three kills, a service ace and a Capital attack error to run away with a 2-0 lead.

Ten attack errors in the third set hurt Capital's chance at a comeback and paired with ONU's best set for its hitters the Polar Bears were able to complete the straight-set victory, 25-10.

Sophomore Leighann Osborne led the Crusaders with eight kills and .217 hit percentage. Trailing closely behind was freshman Delanie Nahikian with seven kills.

Sophomore Isabel Jimenez (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 13 assists and 11 digs on the day.

Three Polar Bear players recorded seven or more kills, led by Chelsea Huppert's 10 on 18 attempts and only one error (.500). Katie Wade threw out 32 assists and six digs, as well.

Capital (0-23, 0-7 OAC) will jump back into action on Wednesday when it hits the road to play Wilmington College (7-19, 0-7 OAC). The Fightin' Quakers and the Crusaders will begin play at 7 p.m.
