ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team was in action in Alliance, Ohio Saturday afternoon when it took on the Purple Raiders of the University Mount Union at The MAAC. The Crusaders lost in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-6, and 25-20.

Capital was unable to replicate its offensive success from the previous night and hit just .014 in the match. Sophomore Leighann Osborne had the most kills on Capital's side with six and was followed by Kirsten Jutte and Jessica Gavlak with four, each.

Conversely, the Purple Raiders (20-3, 3-2 OAC) hit well as a team (.219) and defended the net successfully with eight total blocks, five of the solo variety. Mount Union did not have any player tally more than six kills but had had five players with four or more.

The Crusaders (0-21, 0-5 OAC) will bring their game back to The Capital Center on Tuesday, October 16 when they host Muskingum University. First service is set for 7 p.m.
