COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University volleyball team took in two losses in its tri-match at Albion College. The Crusaders lost in straight sets in both matches, first to Adrian College (Mich.) and then to host Albion later in the day.

ADRIAN 3, CAPITAL 0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-14)

Capital's first match of the day was against the Bulldogs of Adrian College. The Crusaders lost an early advantage when they held a 22-18 lead and was unable to sustain it to the end. Adrian came back to rattle off a seven-point run to end the first set.

Adrian kept the momentum going and took the next two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-14, though Capital's hit percentages and error numbers both improved over the course of the match.

Freshman Olivia Hale (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) had five kills after the first set but was held to just one more over the duration of the match. She finished with a team-high six kills. Senior Koryne VanScoy tied Hale for the team lead with 14 digs on the day. Freshman setter Jenay Kocsis (Marysville, Ohio/Fairbanks) had 12 assists.

ALBION 3, CAPITAL 0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-19)

The Crusaders second match featured a similar result after a three-set affair with the triangular's host. Capital hit in the negative in two of three sets, though rebounded by hitting .243 in the third. Unfortunately, the Britons also hit their best in that last frame posting a .366 attack percentage in the third.

Leighann Osborne (Canal Winchester, Ohio/Canal Winchester) paced the offense with five kills to just one error. Kocsis finished with 10 more assists, good for 22 on the entire day. Freshman Delanie Nahikian had 14 digs in the loss to Albion.
