Capital Volleyball Releases 2018 Schedule

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Volleyball has released its 27-game schedule for the upcoming 2018 season that features nine contests in The Capital Center.

The Crusaders begin the new campaign on Friday, Aug. 31 with a match against Hanover College (Ind.) at Otterbein University as part of the season-opening Capital/Otterbein Classic. The Classic will continue for the Crusaders with three matches on Sept. 1 with showdowns against Washington & Jefferson College, Ohio Wesleyan University and Adrian College (Mich.), all in The Capital Center.

After a home contest against Earlham College on Sept. 4, the Purple and White will go 31 days without playing in The Cap Center again against John Carroll University. During that span, the Crusaders will play three matches at the Case Western Reserve University Invitational Sept. 7-8, three matches at the Buffalo State Bengal Challenge Sept. 14-15, two matches at the Albion Tri-Match on Sept. 22 and two at the SUNY Fredonia Tri-Match on Sept. 29. The team will also travel to Kenyon College on Sept. 11.

Ohio Athletic Conference season gets underway with an away match at Baldwin Wallace University on Friday, Sept. 28 and continues on Oct. 2 at Heidelberg University. Capital will host John Carroll on Oct. 6 and then host Marietta College on Oct. 9.

A break from OAC play comes on Oct. 12 when the team will travel to Franciscan University before jumping back into the conference with an away match at the University of Mount Union. The team hosts Muskingum University on Oct. 16 before traveling to Ohio Northern University and Wilmington College on Oct. 20 and Oct. 23, respectively.

Capital rounds out the regular season with two home matches, the first against Otterbein on Oct. 26 and then against Denison University on Oct. 27 in the regular season finale.

The Crusaders graduated only two seniors from the 2017 squad and will look to build on promising seasons from several underclassmen in the seasons ahead. You can view the entire 2018 schedule here.
