Crusaders Fall in Three to Battling Bishops

DELAWARE, Ohio – The offense continued to be problematic in Capital Volleyball's straight-set loss to Ohio Wesleyan, Tuesday night. The Battling Bishops defended their home court by defeating the Crusaders 25-17, 25-11, and 25-12 inside Branch Rickey Arena.

Sophomore Graysan Braun (Springfield, Ohio) and junior Kristen Bender (Fremont, Ohio) shared the lead for kills, accumulating four each. Capital hit just .020 as a team in the match, committing 17 errors to their 19 kills.

On the other side of the net, Brianna La Croix led both teams with 12 kills and committing just one error (.407). Two players put forth 15 or more digs in the match while the team collected five total blocks at the net.

The loss marks Capital's fifth in a tow heading into this weekend's HCAC/OAC Crossover Tournament, hosted by Muskingum University. The tournament will begin on Friday when the Crusaders (4-11) take on Mount St. Joseph University and Defiance College beginning at 1 p.m. Capital will play Hanover College and Transylvania University the following morning.
