In her first year at the helm, McCarron guided the Crusaders to sixth (women) and ninth (men) place at the Ohio Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships. She helped guide Emma McCarron of the women's team to her second straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Championships thanks to school record-setting 5- and 6-kilometer times along the way.

As a distance coach for the track and field teams, McCarron mentored Emma McCarron to All-America status in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a seventh-place finish in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Under McCarron's leadership, men's distance runner Ed Wigton qualified for the USA Outdoor Track and Field Junior Championships with a school-record time in the 1,500-meter run.

A Mansfield, Ohio, native, McCarron competed in both cross country and track & field at Division I Wichita (Kan.) State University from 2006-09. During her career, the Shockers won three Missouri Valley Conference championships in cross country, and took home MVC titles in both indoor and outdoor track & field in 2007.

McCarron’s coaching experience includes one season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Crestview High School cross country team.

McCarron currently works as a brand ambassador for GMR Marketing.
