ADA, Ohio – Capital University Women's Track & Field completed the Ohio Athletics Conference Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University on Saturday and placed 6th out of 10 teams with 26 points. Two Crusaders though earned All-OAC honors by placing in the top three in their respective events.
Junior Taylor Manivanh was Capital's top-placing athlete with a second-place performance in the triple jump, the event she won last year. Manivanh leapt 11.01 meters to earn Capital eight points, just 0.08 meters behind the event winner. The performance is the fourth-best in program history in the event.
In the high jump, junior Emily Hilt placed third by clearing 1.59 meters. She placed fifth in the long jump yesterday. Hilt's mark was just 0.1 meters short of her personal record.
Capital's 4x200-meter team placed seventh on Saturday and the 4x400-meter team placed eighth. Senior Kassie Lee placed 15th in the shot put with a heave of 11.12 meters.
Capital's athletes will have one more chance to improve their indoor marks next weekend, March 1-2, at the ONU Last Chance Meet hosted by Ohio Northern.
