BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Capital University Women's Track & Field sophomore Taylor Manivanh took her jumps at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in the triple jump on Saturday but did not advance past the preliminary jumps.

Competing in the first of two flights in the competition, Manivanh (Grove City, Ohio/Central Crossing) was unable to start on the right foot and fouled on her first two attempts.

Fighting to continue for the ability to enter the top-nine and qualify for three additional jumps, Manivanh readied herself and was able to convert a leap of 11.12 meters (36-05 ¾). Unfortunately for her though, that mark was not quite strong enough to advance.

The first-time national qualifier finished 17th in the competition, although her mark was her second-best result of the season after her Ohio Athletic Conference-winning performance of 11.75 meters on Feb. 24.
