Women's Track & Field Places Sixteenth in All-Ohio Championship

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Capital University women's track and field team finished in sixteenth place out of 19 teams in the All-Ohio Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Capital's best finish came from Ashley Freshkorn (Columbus, Ohio), who placed fourth in shot put, with a new personal-best 12.40 meters. Her performance earned a team high five points.

Jordan Lyle (Sunbury, Ohio) placed seventh with a 3.25 meter pole vault, earning two points.

Jennifer Long (Hilliard, Ohio) came in 13th place in the hammer throw with a distance of 41.67 meters.

On the track side, the 4x400 relay team of Mackenzie Ciganick (Bellaire, Mich.), Shaylynn Dornbush (Hopedale, Ohio), Rachel Rus (Highland Heights, Ohio), and Samantha Wentz (Haddon Heights, N.J.) crossed the finish line at 4:18.80 to finish thirteenth.

Mount Union took home first place with 147.50 points. Ohio Wesleyan (122) and Baldwin Wallace (94.50) rounded out the top three.
