MARIETTA, Ohio – Capital University's Women's Track & Field team received solid performances in its field events in Saturday's OAC Split South Meet.
Samantha Wentz (Haddon Heights, N.J.) turned in the only first place performance with a time of 1:27.12 in the 500 meter run.
Sophomore Ashley Freshkorn (Columbus, Ohio) reeled in a pair of second place finishes in shot put (12.09m) and weight throw (14.46m).
Jordan Lyle (Sunbury, Ohio) continued her solid sophomore season as she finished second in the pole vault with a 3.51m vault.
Freshman Hannah Westhoven placed third in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 11:39.90.
Kasey Parkhurst (Astalla, Ohio) rounded out the field performances, placing second in the triple jump (10.06m) and fifth in the long jump (10.06m). She also added a third place finish in the 200 meter dash, timing out at 28.20.
Capital finished the meet in fourth place with 74 points, while Otterbein took home first, scoring 179.
The Crusaders will take part in the Joe Banks Invite next Saturday at the ONU Sports Center in Ada, Ohio.
