Madison Watt Earns OAC Player of the Week Award

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Following a dominant conference showing last week, Capital University's Madison Watt was named Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the Ohio Athletic Conference announced.

Madison Watt (Wapakoneta, Ohio/Wapakoneta) earned wins at number one singles and number one doubles on Wednesday, March 27 in the Crusaders' 8-1 match win at Muskingum University. She defeated Muskingum's Sarah Stockdale at number one singles in a 6-0, 6-0 straight-set win.

Watt's first win came in doubles play when she and teammate Maria Sadek teamed up to defeat Emma Lewis and Kayla Hall in one doubles, 8-0. The win was Capital's first OAC win of the season.

This is the third OAC Player of the Week honor in Watt's career.

Capital (5-6, 1-1 OAC) will face off against Marietta College on Wednesday, April 3 at Scarborough East Tennis Club. That match will take place on at 1 p.m.
