Women’s Tennis Falls to Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio – The Capital University women's tennis team was taken down by Baldwin Wallace University, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

Baldwin Wallace (7-11, 3-4 OAC) surrendered just two games to Capital in doubles play, those coming from the top-flight team of senior Monique Hanayik and MacKenzie Archibald. They were defeated by the team of Imani Robinson and Liz Radkiewicz, 8-2. The Yellow Jackets took the other two doubles matches by counts of 8-0.

Capital dropped the numbers one, three and six singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 counts. Freshman Desiree Molina provided a tough match against Shannon Finkenthal, but ultimately dropped the match 7-5, 6-3.

Capital is now 1-11 overall and 0-7 in Ohio Athletic Conference play. The team's final two matches will be played at home at the CU Tennis Courts. They play Ohio Christian University for a second time on Monday, April 24 at 4 p.m. Capital's lone win came against OCU back in the fall by a 6-3 score.
