Women’s Tennis Defeated in Road Contest at Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio – Capital University Women's Tennis fell to 1-9 overall and 0-5 in OAC play with its 9-0 road loss to Marietta College on Tuesday night.

Marietta (2-16, 2-5 OAC) earned a trio of 8-3 victories in doubles play to take an early advantage. Capital's luck did not improve in singles action where the Pioneers defended their home court with wins in each of the six flights. Megan Williams forced a third-set tiebreaker with Marietta's Erin Warvell. The junior won the first set, also in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (8-6) and battled to a 6-4 defeat in the second. In a race to 10, Warvell got their first with a 10-6 win.

Capital still has three OAC matches left to play and the next two of those on the road. They will head to New Concord, Ohio to play Muskingum University on Thursday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m. and end the week with a road trip to Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday, April 22.
