COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Women's Tennis was defeated by Otterbein University, at home, by a 9-0 score on Saturday afternoon. The team is now 1-7 overall and 0-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
Otterbein (10-3, 3-1 OAC) rolled through doubles play, collecting a trio of 8-0 wins over the Purple and White to gain a 3-0 edge early. The Crusaders were unable to stop the Cardinals' momentum and lost all six singles matches. Senior Monique Hanayik played a competitive match in the number two spot of the Capital lineup, falling to Makalya Sutter, 6-3, 6-2. Beyond Hanayik's match, Capital was able to garner just one set point.
Capital's next match will be on the road at Muskingum University on Tuesday, April 11. First service is set for 3:30 p.m.
