Capital edged by Ohio Northern, 2-0

ADA, Ohio- Capital Women's Soccer dropped a 2-0 decision to Ohio Northern University Saturday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium. With the loss, the Crusaders drop to 12-5-0 overall, 5-2-0 in the OAC, while the Polar Bears improve to 13-2-2, 7-0-0 in conference play.

MATCH SUMMARY 

  • In the 28th minute of play, Ohio Northern's Jenna Fuller scored an unassisted goal for the Polar Bears. 
  • Capital had a total of three shots in the first, but none were netted to tie up the score. 
  • Early in the second half, Jenna Fuller scored her second goal for Ohio Northern. Her goal was assisted by Emma Barney. 
  • Capital picked up the momentum and kept the game competitive in the second half, tallying a total of ten shots.
  • Capital defense remained strong, allowing only three shots to be taken for Ohio Northern.  
  • Putting pressure on the opposing defense, Capital earned four corner kicks, but could not break through the Ohio Northern defense. 

 MATCH NOTES 

  • Allyssa Kimbler and Avery Hart each had a single shot on goal for the Crusaders. This marks Kimbler's 10th shot on goal for the season and Hart's 34th.
