COLUMBUS, Ohio– Capital Women's Soccer defeated Muskingum University, 8-0, on Wednesday evening at Bernlohr Stadium. With the win, the Crusaders improve to 12-4-0 overall, 5-1-0 in the OAC, while the Fighting Muskies drop to 6-10-0, 1-5-0 in conference play.

MURRY FOR TWO
Early in the first half, Capital scored its first goal of the match. Sophomore Cassidy Ryan (Westerville, Ohio) took the throw-in for Capital, sending the ball just inside the box. Sophomore Olivia Rotolo (Dublin, Ohio) settled the ball and took a shot towards the left side of the goal. Muskingum's goalkeeper made the save, but was unable to hold onto the ball. That's when senior Carlee Murry (Hilliard, Ohio) took advantage of the loose ball and sent it into the lower-left corner of the net. Less than ten minutes following her first goal, Murry buried a long ball sent from senior Jordan Fike (Powell, Ohio) for Capital's second goal.

HART MAKES IT THREE
In the 26th minute, Fike made a short pass to freshman Avery Hart (Pickerington, Ohio) just outside the box. Hart took a touch and the ball was netted after hitting the left post. This marks Hart's eighth career goal.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Late in the first half, Fike secures back-to-back goals. In the 37th minute, Fike made her way up the field, dribbling past Muskingum's goalkeeper and sending the ball into the back of the net for Capital's fourth goal. Not long after, Ryan sent a through ball to Fike, who was able to beat a defender off the ball. Muskingum's goalkeeper came out of the box for the stop, but Fike took a touch around her and scored her second goal of the evening.

INCREASING THE LEAD
In the second half, there was a scramble for the ball inside Muskingum's defending third. Sophomore Kailey Stanisovska (Gahanna, Ohio) got her foot on the ball and took a right-footed shot from the edge of the box, sending the ball into the net. This is Stanisovska's fourth goal of the season.

NOT DONE YET
The Crusaders continued their momentum in the 77th minute when junior Bridget Mallin found an opening towards the goal and took a strike at the ball. The ball sailed past Muskingum's goalkeeper and landed just inside the left post. This is Mallin's first goal of the season and seventh of her career.

ONE LAST GOAL
Late in the second, sophomore Hillary Counts (Canal Winchester, Ohio) ran onto a through ball and took several touches towards Muskingum's goal. Once past their defender, Counts took a shot and sent the ball into the lower-left corner of the net for Capital's eighth and final goal of the match.
