By: Allison Lowe, assistant sports information director

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) has announced the preseason polls for the 2019 soccer season. Capital University Women's Soccer was chosen to finish third in the preseason coaches' poll.

Capital received 66 points, placing third overall in the 10-team poll. The Crusaders sit above University of Mount Union (54) and below Otterbein University (76). Last season, Mount Union made it to the semifinals of the OAC Tournament and Otterbein won the tournament, defeating the favored team this season, Ohio Northern University. The Crusaders will play Otterbein Nov. 2 at home and Mount Union, Oct. 19 on the road.

Ohio Northern University sits in the number one spot with 77 points and five first place votes. Otterbein, occupies the number two spot with 76 points and five first-place votes. The Crusaders round out the top three.

Capital went 13-6 (6-3 OAC) last season and made it to the OAC Tournament semifinals. Coming off a successful 2018-19 season and returning First Team All-OAC seniors Alyssa Kimbler, Maggie Peddicord, and Jordan Fike, the Crusaders look to earn an OAC Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament bid.
