Leitch Garners OAC Player of the Week Honors
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – A week of perfection by Capital University women's soccer player Kim Leitch was rewarded by the Ohio Athletic Conference after the junior was named the OAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Leitch, a Rocky River, Ohio native, was essential in helping the Crusaders elongate their current unbeaten streak, which now resides at five matches. The netminder did not allow a single goal over two matches that spanned 200 minutes of playing time.

The Capital defense made Leitch's job easy in their first match of the week by limiting Muskingum University's scoring chances. The 2-0 win against the Muskies marked the first of two shutouts Leitch would record, the second coming on the road against rival Otterbein University. In that match, she made four saves to keep the Cardinals off of the board in a scoreless tie that went unbroken through two overtimes.

The Player of the Week honor marks the first of Leitch's career and the second Capital player to achieve the feat this year.

Of the award, head coach Chris Kouns said, "Kim [Leitch] has put in so much work to step up and help lead this program. For her to start the OAC season off with a perfect record in three games and zero goals allowed is a terrific thing! It is also a testament to the way her teammates feel about her effort as they truly have stepped up as well to protect her."

Leitch is now 7-1-1 overall on the season and has posted four shutouts in nine starts. Over the 10 games she has played this season, she has allowed just eight goals, good for a 0.86 goals-against average. With 43 saves, she is posting an 84.3 save percentage on the year.

The Crusaders look to further extend their unbeaten streak against Wilmington College on Wednesday, Oct. 15. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Bernlohr Stadium.
