Continuing the newfound tradition of celebrating the on- and off-field successes of Capital student-athletes and those that help sustain excellence, Capital Athletics held its second annual CAPSPY’s awards banquet.
The Hall of Fame Class of 2014 consists of Leslie A. Stechschulte ’94 (women’s basketball), Robert W. Toy ’89 (football), Gary R. Walters ’66 (baseball/men’s basketball), Steve A. Williams ’86 (men’s soccer), and Gretchen (Kairis) Zietowski ’87 (women’s soccer).
The Capital University women’s soccer team begins postseason play on Tuesday against John Carroll in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals at Bernlohr Stadium. The matchup will feature one of two quarterfinal contests to open conference tournament play, as the Crusaders will square off against the Blue Streaks at 2 p.m.
The Capital University women’s soccer team totaled 110 minutes of play against Otterbein on Saturday afternoon, as they played to a scoreless draw in an Ohio Athletic Conference road matchup at Memorial Stadium.
