COLUMBUS, Ohio – The first NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse regional rankings were released on Wednesday, April 17. With its strong play against stout competition, Capital University has inserted itself into the first regional rankings of the year, coming in at seventh in the Mid-South Region.

Capital (9-4, 6-0 OAC) has been a common name in Mid-South regional rankings in recent years and 2019 is no exception. Capital rounds out the first regional rankings of the year, coming in at number seven in the Mid-South, and is one of two Ohio Athletic Conference teams to earn a place in the top-7.

CU is riding a six-game winning streak, one shy of tying a program record set in both 2017 and 2018. Amidst the current run, the Crusaders have held their opponent to one or fewer goals three times, including two shutouts. They look to tie that mark on Friday, April 19, against Ohio Northern University (7-6, 3-2 OAC). Game time is set for 2 p.m. from Bernlohr Stadium.

Two of Capital's losses this season come to teams ahead of them in the regional rankings, those being against third-ranked Rhodes College and fourth-ranked College of Wooster. Cap has one opponent remaining on the schedule also ahead of them in the rankings, that being the University of Mount Union, which is set for a showdown is Alliance in the regular season finale on April 27.
