COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Capital University and Ohio Wesleyan University had its match discontinued in the 36th minuteof Wednesday night's game due to storms and lightning strikes that plagued Central Ohio. Capital was leading Ohio Wesleyan 14-5, but was forced to stop play because of lightning spotted in the area. With the storms worsening, the match was canceled.
Because the match did not meet the NCAA criteria for an official game (80 percent, 48 minutes), the match will need to be restarted should the teams decide to reschedule the game. No decision has been made if that will occur.
Capital's next scheduled match will be against Baldwin Wallace University at 1 p.m. from Bernlohr Stadium.
