AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Capital University Women's Lacrosse picked up a sweep in the weekly conference awards. The Ohio Athletic Conference announced that Kara Hines was the Offensive Player of the Week, while Maddie Wilson was awarded conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Junior Kara Hines (Columbus, Ohio / Worthington Kilbourne) had a game-high 5 goals against Kenyon. She also collected four draw controls, scooped up three ground balls and forced three turnovers. Against Otterbein, Hines scored two goals. She tallied seven draw controls, collected five ground balls, and caused one turnover.
Senior Maddie Wilson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio / Chagrin Falls) made a game-saving stop with 38 seconds left in regulation to secure an 11-10 victory over Kenyon. Wilson held Otterbein scoreless in the first half, and only surrendered 4 goals.
This is the second time this season the Cap women's lacrosse team has swept the weekly honors for the OAC.
Cap came out last week with an overall record of 7-1 and will put its conference 2-0 record on the line on Saturday at 1p.m. The Crusaders host the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin Wallace University.
