AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced the player of the week for both offense and defense. Freshman Kathryn Walton and senior Maddie Wilson each earned a player of the week nod.
Walton, a Pickerington, Ohio native, picked up the OAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Last week she tallied nine goals, which led the team. She also picked up six draw controls and collected four ground balls. Walton also caused two turnovers. Currently she is ranked fourth in the OAC with 17 goals and fifth in points with 18.
Wilson hails from Chagrin Falls, Ohio and was selected as the OAC Defensive Player of the Week. Over the past week Wilson made 15 saves, while surrendering just seven goals. She racked up six ground balls. Wilson currently ranks first in the OAC with a save percentage of 65.7 percent and in goals-against average with 6.07. She is second in the conference with 44 saves on the season.
