SUNBURY, Ohio – The Capital University women's golf team took to the course Friday afternoon at the NorthStar Golf Club, in the Cardinal Classic. Katie Lease led Cap with score of 87.
Junior Katie Lease (Hilliard, Ohio / Hilliard Davidson) finished the Cardinal Classic in ninth place. This marks the second straight tournament that Lease has finished in the Top-10.
Sophomore Katelynn Kinley (Sycamore, Ohio / Mohawk) finished second for Cap with a round of 94. Kinley finished just outside of the Top-10, with a 12th place finish.
Junior Christy Conley (Reynoldsburg, Ohio / Pickerington Central) shot 100 to claim the third spot in Cap's team total.
Junior Janie Moller (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington North) claimed the fourth with a 101 stroke day.
Freshman Alyssa Greening (Norton, Ohio / Norton) shot a 107 on the day.
Freshman Kari Hogan (Louisville, Ohio / Canton Glen Oak) finished tied for 14th as an individual for the Crusaders.
Cap finished in third place with a team score of 382. Host Otterbein University won the classic with a combined score of 325, while the University of Mount Union came in second with 340 strokes.
Capital returns to action next Saturday-Sunday as it competes in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships. The tournament will take place at the River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.
