Capital Finishes the Purple and White Invite in Fourth Place

PATASKALA, Ohio – The Capital University women's golf team took to the links Sunday for the second day of the Purple and White Invite at the Cumberland Trail Golf Club. Katie Lease paced Cap with a two-round total of 163, in the team's fourth place finish.

Junior Katie Lease (Hilliard, Ohio / Hilliard Davidson) bested her first round score of 83, with an 80 to lead Cap with final a score of 163. Lease finished the tournament with a fifth place finish out of 36 golfers.

Junior Janie Moller (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington North) posted a strong tournament and finished tied for 10th place. Moller shot a first round 84 and matched that with a second round 84, for a two-day total of 168.

Sophomore Katelynn Kinley (Sycamore, Ohio / Mohawk) finished the tournament with 173 strokes. Day one she shot an 85 and on day two she shot an 88.

Junior Christy Conley (Reynoldsburg, Ohio / Pickerington Central) shot an 89 on day one, but improved on that with a day two score of 88. She shot 177 for the tournament.

Freshman Alyssa Greening (Norton, Ohio / Norton) had a two-day total of 205.

Cumberland Trail Golf Club is a par-72 that measured 5,469 yards.

The Crusaders return to action Friday and Saturday, as they travel to the Northstar Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio. Capital will compete in the Otterbein Spring Invite.
