HARROD, Ohio – The Capital University women's golf team hit the links Sunday in day two of the ONU Spring Invitational at the Colonial Golfers Club. Cap finished tied for fifth out of 11 teams with a combined total of 715 strokes. Janie Moller paced Capital with a two-day total of 176.
Junior Janie Moller (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington North) tied a career-low 87 on day two, after she shot an 89 on day one. Moller finished 11th out of 67 golfers.
Junior Katie Lease (Hilliard, Ohio / Hilliard Davidson) finished just two strokes behind Moller. Lease opened the tournament with an 88 and rounded the tournament out with a 90, for a total of 178.
One stroke behind Lease, was junior Christy Conley (Reynoldsburg, Ohio / Pickerington Central) with a round of 88 on day one. She followed that with a round of 91 on day two.
Sophomore Katelynn Kinley (Sycamore, Ohio / Mohawk) posted a tournament total of 182. She shot two rounds of 91.
The University of Northwestern Ohio finished in first place with a combined total of 664. Olivet College posted a 697, for a second place finish. One stroke behind Olivet was Otterbein University with a two-day total of 698.
The Colonial Golfers Club is a par-71 that measures 6,788 yards.
The Crusaders return to action next Saturday and Sunday as they host the Purple and White Invite at the Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala, Ohio.
