COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University women's golf team held true to seventh place at this weekend's Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Invitational. Kaitlyn Kinley and Katie Lease shot equal scores to pace the Crusaders at the Safari Golf Club.
Capital laid claim to seventh place after day one of the weekend invitational after shooting a 374 scorecard. Though the team shot 12 strokes more on day two, they still maintained their hold on seventh out of a 10 team field.
Kinley displayed a seven-stroke improvement between rounds, turning in a 98-91-189 card by tournament's end. Lease remained consistent, shooting a 94 and 95 to equal Kinely. Both took a share of 34th place overall.
Katie Sollman (92-101-193), Christy Conley (90-106-196) and Janie Moller (100-99-199) rounded out the Capital lineup.
The College of Wooster (650) took the team title while host Ohio Wesleyan (683) held off Columbus State (684) for second place.
Capital will compete next at the Heidelberg Fall Invitational at Red Hawk Run Golf Club (Findlay, Ohio) on Saturday, Sept. 19-20.
