Women’s Basketball Ranked Third in OAC Coaches’ Poll

COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) has announced the preseason polls for the 2019-20 basketball season. Capital University Women's Basketball has been picked to finish third.

Capital received 64 points, placing third overall in the 10-team poll. The Crusaders sit above Marietta College (57) and below John Carroll University (75). Last season, Marietta entered the OAC Women's Basketball Tournament as the third seed. Marietta defeated the University of Mount Union in the first round and lost to Ohio Northern University in the second. John Carroll took home the 2019 OAC Women's Basketball Tournament title, defeating Ohio Northern 61-58. The Crusaders will play Marietta on the road, January 15 and John Carroll the following Saturday at home.

Baldwin Wallace sits in the number one spot with 78 points and six first-place votes. John Carroll occupies the number two spot with 75 points and four first-place votes. The Crusaders round out the top three.

Capital went 16-10 (11-7 OAC) last season and made it to the first round of the OAC Women's Basketball Tournament. Coming off a successful 2018-19 season and returning First Team All-OAC senior Regan Stonerock, the Crusaders look to earn an OAC Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament bid.
