COLUMBUS, Ohio – Following the conclusion of the 2018 Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament, the conference recognized the best performers of the postseason with the announcement of this year's All-Tournament Team. Erin Risner represented Capital University on this list after posting two solid games during the Crusaders' tournament appearance.
Erin Risner (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) was instrumental in Capital's upset win over higher-seeded Mount Union on Feb. 20. Eleven of Capital's 21 second-quarter points was scored by Risner, which was one out of two separate runs that fueled Capital's 65-60 win over the Purple Raiders. She finished the evening with 22 points, a new career high, on 10-of-19 shooting which was good for a 52.6 percent success rate.
Risner then came back two days later and dropped 14 points, five rebounds and three blocks against eventual tournament champion Marietta College.
For the tournament, she averaged 18 points, five rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, plus a .500 shooting percentage over a two-game stretch. This marks the first time the junior has earned OAC All-Tournament accolades in her career.
