Capital Softball Announces 2019 Schedule

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Softball has announced its 2019 regular season slate, a schedule that features 40 contests. Fourteen of those games will be played at home at the Clowson Field softball complex, 18 will be true road contests and the remaining eight games will be played at neutral sites.

Capital's season once again will begin in Clermont, Fla. with all eight of the team's neutral site games taking place over Spring Break. The season opener will be played on Monday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. against Augustana College (Ill.) and the team will then play Alma College (Mich.) that same day at 4:15 p.m.

The team will then take on Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) on Feb. 26 at 12 p.m. immediately followed by a game with Neumann University. After an off day on Wednesday, the Crusaders will start Thursday with a 9:45 a.m. game against Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and then take on the Milwaukee School of Engineering. The team's trip will conclude on March 1 with another tilt against Neumann and a game against Johnson State University (Vt.).

After returning north, the Crusaders will have a two-week break before commencing the rest of their season. Capital will be back in action on Friday, March 15 for a doubleheader at Hanover College, the first of six consecutive road twin bills.

Ohio Athletic Conference play begins on Saturday, March 23 at John Carroll University. Capital will host its first doubleheader on Wednesday, March 27 against Kenyon College and will then host Ohio Northern University, Heidelberg University and Denison University as part of an eight-game homestand.

Following away contests at Marietta College and Muskingum University, the Crusaders will host cross-town rivals Otterbein University on Saturday, April 13. Wilmington College will then come to town on April 16.

The final away series of the year will take place at Baldwin Wallace University on March 19 and the Crusaders will conclude the regular season on Saturday, April 27 with a home doubleheader against the University of Mount Union.
