Men’s Cross Country Returns to the Course in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio – Capital University Men's Cross Country returned to the course after a three-week layoff on Friday at the JennaStrong Fall Classic hosted by Wilmington College. Of the Division III schools competing, the Crusaders placed 11th, finishing the 8,000-meter race with 898 points.

Once again, senior Nathan Hutchins paced the Capital squad, stopping the clock at 29:07.3.

Freshman Grant Ward was the next Crusader to cross the finish line, doing so at 29:25.1. Jonas Pyle finished fewer than 30 seconds back of Ward with a run of 30:02.6 and Daniel McPherson was just seconds behind Pyle at 30:17.3.

Andrew Rus rounded out the team with a run of 30:39.1.

Capital's will now take a couple weeks to recover before the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27 hosted by the University of Mount Union.
