Hutchins Sets Personal Best to Lead Capital at Otterbein Invitational

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Capital University Men's Cross Country returned to Otterbein University for the second race of the season in Westerville on Saturday, running in the Otterbein Invitational. The Crusaders placed fifth with 150 points.

Nathan Hutchins led the Crusaders with a 39th-place finish and a personal-best time of 30:10.6, beating his previous best by 10 seconds.

Freshman grant Ward continued the strong start to his career with a time of 31:12.2, just narrowly missing a top-50 finish. Jonas Pyle stopped the clock just two seconds after Ward and placed 52nd.

Freshman Daniel McPherson was the next Capital runner across the finish line with a mark of 32:11.9. Andrew Rus rounded out the Capital squad with a 73rd-place finish and time of 34:05.2.

Capital's busy start to the season will continue next week with the team's fourth race in four weeks at the Columbus State Cougar Invitational.
