COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Men's Cross Country knew that its strength would be in its numbers coming into this season and for the second straight race to start the year, the team successfully stayed in a pack to push each other at the Bethany Invitational hosted by Bethany College (W. Va.). All of Capital's runners finished with times within 1:20 of each other.
Just seconds behind that duo was newcomer Daniel McPherson with a run of 31:07 for a 51st-place mark.
The race was the first 8K race of the year after the team competed in the 5K Battle of Columbus to start the year. As a team, Capital finished ninth out of 15 with 272 points. The packed start to the season will continue next week on Sept. 15 at the Otterbein Invitational hosted by Otterbein University.
