OBERLIN, Ohio – Saturday morning, the top of the Men's Capital University cross country team competed at Oberlin Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College. The Capital group faced a large field this week of 32 teams beating out La Roche College for 31st place in the team standings.
Junior Derek Knabe (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the Capital team again this week in a time of 26:57.6 dropping almost a minute off his previous 8,000-meter time. Knabe was in the top half of the competition coming in 120th out of a field of 278 runners.
Junior Aaron Fox (Commercial Point, Ohio) was on his heels coming in next with a two-minute season best time of 27:34.6. He placed 167th overall.
Senior Andrew Stroh (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) was the next harrier across the line in 28:37.3. Sophomore Andrew Rus (Mayfield, Ohio) completed the course in a time of 30:02.9. Freshman Daniel Costello (Sandy Valley, Ohio) closed out the top of the Capital pack clocking in at 30:42.6.
Carnegie Mellon University (75) was the first place team finisher taking three of the top 15 individual spot. Mount Union University (123) placed second, and coming in third was Wabash College (138).
Capital will host one of the biggest meets of the season next at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship (Delaware, Ohio) on Oct. 29. The meet will be hosted by Capital at the Columbus State Community College – Delaware Campus. More information on the meet can be found here.
