CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Capital University men's cross country team joined 42 other squads from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III for the 2014 All-Ohio Championships on Friday. Cedarville University hosted the event at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course, where the Crusaders placed 36th overall and 18th among Division III schools.

Freshman Derek Knabe (Cincinnati, Ohio) paced the Crusaders with a 28:23.93 finish time, which tabbed him good for 296th overall out of 569 runners. His time placed him 115th out of 284 Division III runners and bettered his previous 8k time at the Otterbein Invitational by nearly one minute.

Sophomore Andrew Stroh (Hilliard, Ohio) followed closely behind in 138th place in the Division III circuit. He ran the 8,000-meter course in 28:45.34.

Kaleb Perez (29:25.04), Aaron Fox (30:43.60), and Bailey McBeth (31:26.03) also ran the course for the Crusaders.

Combined, Capital totaled 523 points for an 18th-place finish among their Division III peers. Twenty-one schools entered the race from the Division III ranks. John Carroll University (95) and the University of Mount Union (99) finished first and second, respectively.
